Enameled cast iron loaf oven with a steam-circulating lid
Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.
A lidded cast iron pan for a full-size sandwich loaf — the shape that actually fits a toaster and a lunchbox. The lid holds the steam in early so the crust sets properly, then comes off to colour.
Heavy enough to hold its heat when a cold dough goes in, which is most of the reason a home oven struggles with bread in the first place.
Cast iron. Let it cool before washing. Dry thoroughly after every wash.
10 × 5 in. Holds up to 2 lb of dough.
Full-size sandwich loaf
Rectangular, so the bread slices square and actually fits a toaster and a lunchbox. Holds up to 2 lb of dough.
Steam-trapping lid
Holds the loaf's own moisture in for the first half of the bake, which is what sets a crust that cracks rather than softens.
Heavy cast iron
Thermal mass. A preheated base does not lose its heat the moment cold dough goes in — which is exactly where a thin baking tray fails.
Not only for bread
Roasts, braises and casseroles just as well with the lid on. It is a covered cast iron dish that happens to be loaf-shaped.
Fired at 1280°C for extraordinary durability.
Lead-free reactive glazes, safe for every meal.
Small-batch production in our London studio.
Beautiful kraft paper packaging, ready to gift.
